Johnny Concepcion

dj and producer

Biography;

Johnny Concepcion a Dominican native, with rhythm in his blood by nature, he has dedicated more than half of his life to the art of deejaying, so much so that Johnny attended the “Dubspot” recording school of music and deejaying, to obtain his degree in music science which covers the areas of; music production technology, music composition programing, and music business management. Johnny has transcended what he has long believed to be an incomplete form of deejaying since his motives from the beginning of his dj career have been to perfection the art of deejaying by learning not only the technical aspects of the art but also the functionality of music from the inside out, for Johnny a nice party is not enough, he wants to give his crowd the once in a lifetime event that they are looking for, an event that they can cherish as long as they are alive.
The composition aspect of music, the production knowledge and his understanding of rhythm, sound, and time gives Johnny a tremendous advantage in the industry since this makes Johnny a well-rounded DJ and performer.

Johnny’s career is the culmination of a lifetime of deejaying around the US and many other places around the world, observing people react, and making people move. At age 18, he played school functions; at age 20, he played friends' birthdays; by age 25, he was playing the VIP rooms of New York City’s hotspots and many other places. Johnny even opened his own radio station named “the black diamond radio back in 20012.

Johnny’s love of music and his appreciation of sounds both classic and cutting-edge date back to age 7 when he discovered the sound of many European dj producers like dj Armin Van Buuren, dj Tiesto, and others in the early 2000’s, for Johnny it was really inspiring to see a dj open the 2004 Olympic games for the first time as done by dj Tiesto, as well as some of today’s most praised djs and musicians in the US, such as pivotal hip hop records like Run DMC's "Sucker MC's" and cult classic dance films like Breakin'. Eventually in his life he visited record stores every weekend and studied the back of each vinyl sleeve he came across, learning who wrote and produced his favorite songs. Inspired by Afrika Bambaataa's, Kool Herc’s, and Grandmaster Flash’s genre-defying style, a young Johnny made it his motto to play all music, for all people and make you not only move but truly enjoy one of the finest music entertainment that you will ever come across.

Johnny Concepcion goes around the cities twelve months a year, electrifying party people with an infectious showmanship, and a musical palette so broad, he relates to everyone within his reach, uniting dance floors everywhere he goes.
